QU’EN DISENT-ILS?
Mauritius is a stunning Island with wonderful beaches and scenery but if you can give up the Indian Ocean for a couple of mornings, Henry, Nico and the team at Yanature will deliver even better views and an experience you will be talking about when you get home. They are a very professional outfit. Very organised, very relaxed and help you immerse into the spectacular scenery, fauna and fauna and wildlife along these famous and spectacular trails. Black River Gorge and the hike to the summit of the iconic Le Morne ( 2 separate trips) were the two we did and given we were only here a week, represented a couple of early starts and a commitment to give up two half days away from the beach but trust us, do both if staying in the Southern half of the Island... It's a far more rewarding trip than the usual spots, which on reflection didn't come close to these two hikes for magic memories of Mauritius. Thank you!
We went on the 3.5 hour Black River Gorges hike through Black River National Park with Yanature in July 2016 and had a great time. We didn't take any specific hiking gear, just a good pair of walking shoes, and we were fine with a small backpack with some snacks and a bottle of water. Although very steep, our guide let us walk at our own pace and patiently waited when we took frequent breaks to catch our breath or admire the beautiful views. We highly recommend going with a guide because the trails are not well marked, and you'll also get a lot more out of the experience with someone to identify the various plants and animals you see along the way. Our walk did include a small river crossing, not very deep, but you can expect to get wet feet!
We did a three hours hike in the nationalpark. We were told a lot about the nature and the plants and learnt a lot on the island's history. Highly recommend. Thanks guys
